    The SE JT34727WP Wooden Dapping Punch Set (24 PC.) has changeable dapping punch sizes ranging from 2.3 mm to 25 mm. Dapping punches can be used with a dapping block to dome sheet metal. Wood will not scratch or mar the surface of precious metals. The wood and provides a nice, even curvature to the item you are shaping, and more intricate designs. This set is used with precious non-ferrous metals including brass, copper, gold, platinum, silver, and more. Included are a variety of dapping punch tool sizes that allow you to select the punch tool to match the correct punch tool with the dome block. Dapping punches are used to form metal into a dome and shape any bendable metal. They can be used with non-ferrous metals. The damping punch sizes included in mm are: 2.3, 3.5, 4.3, 5.1, 5.9, 6.7, 7.5, 8.3, 9.1, 9.5, 10.7, 11.5, 12.3, 13, 13.8, 14.8, 15.4, 16.2, 17, 18.6, 20.2, 21.8, 23.4, and 25. The dapping punch is used in conjunction with a wooden dapping block (not included, sold separately).
    How to use with a dapping block:
    1) Place the metal, design side down, into one of the depressions in the dapping block.
    2) Take a bendable piece of metal and place between steel and dapping block.
    3) Hold the dapping punch firmly with one hand over the metal piece.
    4) Use the flat end of the dapping punch tool to strike for an even blow.
    5) Tap the dapping punch with a rubber or rawhide mallet several times.
    6) Continue to strike with appropriate sized dapping punch until you make the desired dome or curvature in the metal.
