Description

This Direct is a great pack with a 22 degree Women's Contour Molded Hipbelt designed for lady's hips. This pack, with this hipbelt, offers women a much better fit and much more comfort than the common men's hipbelt, which is 14 degrees, The size of this pack is Medium with Medium shoulder straps. The 22 degree Hip Belt is Medium/Small. This is truly a lady's pack. Here is how Dana described the Women's Contour Molded Hipbelt: "Since your fit needs to be perfect, Dana Design naturally created a specific belt for women with a gerater amount of contour than a man's belt. We have refined this woman's shape since 1989, to give you the comfort you deserve. Getting a good fit between the hipbelt and your hips is critical to your comfort. Dana Design's Contour Molded Hipbelts use a compression-molded outer shell that cups your hips superbly, unlike other belts that are essentially flat. We then ensure your comfort with soft, tailored open cell foam pads cushioning your hips This gives you the best of both worlds: a firm outer shell to carry the load, and soft, breathable open cell foam pads to cushion the load."
Dana Design packs are legendary, and they are renowned for their comfort, durability and load-carrying capacity.  To correctly size a Dana pack, go to Google and enter "Dana Design How To Wear Your Pack". It will guide you on sizing a pack, belt and harness. Dana Design, founded by Dana Gleason, was a small manufacturer of high end backpacks for treking, backpacking, mountain climbing, skiing and expeditions.  Dana packs were hand made in Bozeman, Montana, but in 1996 Dana sold his business to K-2, and then it was later sold to Marmot in 2004. Marmot still honors Dana's lifetime warranty. Dana Design packs are known for their ability to haul, meaning that their packs can balance large weights very well and cause the wearer far less stress than other backpacks.  Additionally, most Dana Design products used a redundant system of straps and zippers to prevent any single zipper or strap failure from rendering the pack unstable or unusable.
