Description
This Dana Design Terraplane 10th Anniversary backpack is very clean, only slightly used and is very rare, especially in this condition. The frame size is MEDIUM, with a MEDIUM hip belt and MEDIUM shoulder harness. HOWEVER, if you need a SMALL or a LARGE BELT, I have a few extra belts, and I can swap the Medium belt out for you…subject to availability... just let me know. Extra belts and harnesses are EXTREMELY hard to find. To correctly size a Dana pack, go to Google and enter "Dana Design How To Wear Your Pack". It will guide you on sizing a pack, belt and harness. The Terraplane has been raved about by professional packers, major magazines, and it has been rated one of the best packs ever built - by any manufacturer. The 10th Anniversary pack is a step up from the wonderful legendary Terraplane, as there is an access zipper running vertically the length of the pack on each side of the pack. If you are not familiar with this pack and Dana Design, I suggest that you go to Google, and you will find accolade after accolade. Dana Design packs are legendary, and they are renowned for their comfort, durability and load-carrying ability. Dana packs were hand made in Bozeman, Montana, but Dana sold his business in 1996 to K-2 and then it was later sold to Marmot in 2004, who currently honors Dana's lifetime warranty. Per the Dana catalog, I quote: "TERRAPLANE - Our flagship…probably the best expedition pack ever built. We have been evolving the Terraplane since 1975 to meet the needs of the world's most demanding mountaineers. We built the Terraplane with all the touches that make a great pack, rather than leaving them to be tacked on as 'accessories'. The built-in breathable body pad allows sweat to evaporate off your back, allowing you to stay warmer in winter and cooler in summer. The twin back pockets stay out of your way and allow ready access to water bottles and all the other little stuff. The Terraplane has a bombproof daisy chain between its pockets that allows ice tools and whatnot to be strapped in place without threatening the populace at large. Also, the ice tool loops don't interfere with access to the bottom of the pack. The HipLid becomes a 600 cu. in. hipsac for the little trips. The retractable bottom and removable HipLid allow this pack to shrink from 5,955 cu. in. to 2,810 cu. in. and still carry the load tight and under control. The Terraplane… What you need, when you need it." The following is a quote from "CLIMBING MAGAZINE": "This versatile mountaineering pack is a gem - it's the most comfortable, durable, and easily-adjusted pack I've ever carried." There is not much more to say…other than - Try it, You'll like it! The volume of the Large Terraplane is 5,955 cu. in. It weighs 6 lbs. 3 oz, with the medium size being only slightly smaller and a couple of ounces lighter. The pack-cloth is rugged 500 D Cordura.I have put on a low price for this rare 10th Anniversary Terraplane pack, as I have seen them in this condition go for over 0.
